ABC Family has released the first trailer for its upcoming series “Shadowhunters” on Friday.
In the trailer, Clary, played by Katherine MacNamara, is roped into a “supernatural fight club” that protects humans from the demon world.
The series stars McNamara and Dominic Sherwood, as well as Harry Shum Jr., Alan Van Sprang, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa and Matthew Daddario.
“Shadowhunters,” an adaptation of the “Mortal Instruments” series of YA books by Cassandra Clare, will follow 18-year-old Clary, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting.
“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG, who will also direct the first episode.
The series will premiere its 13-episode season in early 2016
