“Breaking Bad” Emmy winner Aaron Paul plays a morally burdened drone pilot in “Eye in the Sky,” Gavin Hood‘s modern warfare thriller set for a 2015 release.

TheWrap‘s exclusive image above shows American Steve Watts (Paul) as he navigates the unmanned war vehicle with a world-weary look upon his face. The film, written by Guy Hibbert, tracks the entire “drone” operation his character is part of, which aims to capture a group of Nairobi terrorists.

The international thriller features a large crop of top-billed co-stars, including Oscar winner Helen Mirren as commanding military intelligence officer Col. Katherine Powell, Alan Rickman (“Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass”) as Lieutenant General Frank Benson and Barkhad Abdi (“Captain Phillips”) as Jama Farah.

Watts finds himself at a crossroads when a nine-year-old girl enters the kill zone his drone is poised to destroy.

With unforeseen collateral damage now entering the equation and with the volatility of the situation increasing with every second that passes, Madden must now pass the mission’s authority up the “kill chain” to politicians and lawyers, including British Foreign secretary James Willett (Iain Glen), who must weigh both the legality and morality of action and inaction.

Colin Firth and Ged Doherty are producing “Eye in the Sky” through their Raindog Films banner, along with Xavier Marchand who will oversee production for Entertainment One and Moonlighting Films.
