Caitlyn Jenner’s ‘I Am Cait’ Debut Scores 2.7 Million Viewers, Tops Cable in Key Ratings Demo

And then it aired three more times

Caitlyn Jenner is a hit, though perhaps not an overwhelming one.

E! reality series “I Am Cait” premiered to 2.732 million total viewers, with 1.5 of them coming from the key 18-49 demographic. Combined with three re-airings, “I Am Cait” touched 6.2 million total viewers.

The docuseries had a 1.2 rating in the main demo, according to Nielsen numbers. That figure tied for first across cable with an 11 p.m. “Family Guy” over on Adult Swim.

E! uses Nielsen’s Live Plus 3 Day ratings as its baseline, so those will be released later in the week.

The above numbers, while good, aren’t massive compared to some of Caitlyn’s recent TV moments. Bruce Jenner’s April “20/20” sitdown with Diane Sawyer on ABC drew nearly 17 million viewers. A more apples-to-apples comparison, a May “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” special on E! focusing on Bruce, received 2.9 million viewers.

Caitlyn’s official debut at the ESPY Awards hauled in 7.7 million viewers.

“I Am Cait” has an eight episode order on E!
