Cameron Monaghan is ready to bring The Joker’s trademark humor to Fox’s “Gotham.”
The “Shameless” star posted an Instagram photo (below) of himself bearing the Batman archnemesis’ signature grin while posing for a mugshot.
Monaghan previously appeared in the one episode during season one of “Gotham” as Jerome, whom Jim Gordon suspected of murdering his own mother.
During a tense interrogation scene, Jerome drops his nice guy facade and delves into the sociopathic madness we’ve come to expect from the Clown Prince of Crime.
Though reps for Monaghan and Fox have yet to confirm that Monaghan will play the notorious villain, it seems all but certain that he is set to play the iconic role that has previously been portrayed by acting luminaries including Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Jared Leto is currently filming his incarnation of The Joker in David Ayer‘s “Suicide Squad.”
