Chris Kattan on His First Time on ‘Dancing With the Stars’: ‘I’m Still Sore’ (Exclusive Video)

“But it’s a good sore” “Saturday Night Live” alum tells TheWrap after experiencing shin splints for the first time

“Dancing With the Stars” has put Chris Kattan through the ringer.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum performed his first routine with partner Witney Carson last week, and he says his body is still recovering.

“I feel like I’ve gone through some breaking and training,” the actor and comedian said in an interview with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “I’m still sore, but it’s a good sore. The no pain, no gain thing is happening now.”

“I was like, ‘You don’t know what shin splints are?’” Carson joked, making fun of Kattan’s inexperience with physical activity.

“They asked me [to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’] twice before in the past, and really the only reason was because I had four surgeries,” Kattan said. “There’s a lot of healing to go under and that’s a relatively down time that you have to spend alone.”

But now he’s spending his days with Carson, training hard for their weekly performances.

“I’m actually kind of like his therapist as well … I’m helping you with the ladies, I gave you a shoutout on camera,” joked Carson.
