Chris Pratt Mistakes Ariana Grande for Latina in New ‘SNL’ Spot – She’s Not? (Video)

“Problem” singer implies the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star makes boring movies in NBC promo for “Saturday Night Light” Season 40 premiere

“Saturday Night Live” host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande have less chemistry than oil and water in the teaser for their upcoming episode, which is also the Season 40 debut.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” stud began the NBC promo by praising the “Problem” pop star’s body of work.

“You know, Ariana, I work out to your music — it gets me pumped,” he said.

“Oh, that’s crazy!” she replied. “You know, I’m such a big fan of your movies. Whenever I can’t sleep at night I watch them and they make me so … uh … tired.”

After an awkward silence, the camera cut away and the pair tried again.

The second take has Pratt introducing them before awkwardly turning it over to Grande: “Ariana, do you want to translate for our Spanish viewers?”

“I’m actually Italian,” she responded.

“Eehhhh. That’s … no … that’s what I meant,” Pratt stuttered. “I meant, do you want pizza?”

“Saturday Night Live” returns for its 40th season on Sept. 27 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
