Chris Pratt to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season Premiere With Musical Guest Ariana Grande

The following week, Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5 will headline the sketch comedy show

“Parks and Recreation” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt will host the Season 40 premiere of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” the network said Wednesday.

Musical guest Ariana Grande will join the comic actor on Sept. 27 in her show debut.

On Oct. 4, comedienne Sarah Silverman will host and musical guest Maroon 5 will perform in 30 Rock’s famed Studio 8H.

Silverman is a former “SNL” writer and occasional performer who had a short-lived run on the long-running series.

Pratt also stars in the upcoming film “Jurassic World,” while Grande’s “My Everything” album is currently No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Silverman’s turn as host the following week marks her debut in the role. Her comedy album “Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles” is due out Sept. 23. For Maroon 5, the gig is their fifth time as musical guest.
