‘Desperate Housewives,’ ‘Supernatural’ Producers Sign Deal With Tomorrow Studios

Partnership began with NBC’s summer series “Aquarius”

The newly formed production company Fabrication and its principals have signed an exclusive development deal with Marty Adelstein’s Tomorrow Studios.

Fabrication’s principals, showrunners Alexandra Cunningham (“Prime Suspect,” “Desperate Housewives”), Sera Gamble (“The Magicians,” “Supernatural”) and John McNamara (“The Magicians,” “Trumbo”) previously worked with Tomorrow Studios on the NBC series “Aquarius” starring David Duchovny.

“We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with Alexandra, Sera and John. They are each gifted writers and showrunners and we were amazed at their outstanding work on Aquarius,” said Adelstein in a statement. “When the series was first set up, we created a non-traditional model for our relationship with writers in an effort to foster an artist-friendly environment. We wanted to continue that approach by bringing in this powerful team to develop and produce while also attracting other outside writers to our studio.”

“We wanted to start a production company that would blend our areas of interest and experience and build an atmosphere of creative support and community for show creators and writers,” said Cunningham, Gamble and McNamara in a statement. “And now, thanks to Tomorrow Studios, we’re going to get to do that with Fabrication.”

Among the projects already in development are “The Lizard King,” an adaptation of Bryan Christy’s 2008 book; “Stinger,” an adaptation of Becky Masterman’s book “Rage Against the Dying”; and “The Persuaders,” a reboot of the ’70s series starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis.
