Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Skyscraper” will hit theaters on July 13, 2018, Legendary and Universal Pictures announced Wednesday.

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (“Central Intelligence,” “We’re The Millers”), the 3D action-thriller is produced by Beau Flynn, Johnson and Thurber.

“Skyscraper” will star Johnson as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. In China, he finds the tallest and safest building on the planet suddenly ablaze — and he’s being framed for it.

Executive producers on the project are Dany Garcia (“Baywatch,” “Ballers”) and Hiram Garcia (“San Andreas,” “Central Intelligence”). Wendy Jacobson (“San Andreas”) is co-producer.

Johnson most recently starred in Disney’s “Moana” and “Central Intelligence.” The busiest man in Hollywood will next appear in “The Fate of the Furious,” “Baywatch” and “Jumanji.” It was also recently announced he would star in and executive produce the WWE comedy-drama “Fighting with My Family,” written and directed by Stephen Merchant.

The actor is represented by WME and Viewpoint.
