Don’t fret “Grey’s Anatomy” fans: Dr. Meredith Grey isn’t going the way of Dr. McDreamy.

Ellen Pompeo has closed a new deal to remain on “Grey’s,” her reps told TheWrap on Wednesday. The specific terms of the deal have not been made public.

Pompeo’s last contract was for two years, and had kept her on board through the recently concluded twelfth season.

Retaining the titular star was a top priority for ABC, as “Grey’s” is easily the strongest series on its highly promoted “TGIT” these days. And the Disney broadcaster could use the TV ratings, as it finished fourth this fall/spring in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic.

Plus, “Grey’s Anatomy” has not only killed off Patrick Dempsey‘s popular character, but it just lost Sara Ramirez after 10 seasons.

Pompeo is repped by CAA, John Carrabino and Hansen Jacobson.
