“Ice Road Truckers” vet will handle The Pet Collective
FremantleMedia North America has named Gayle Gilman as its new executive vice president of digital content, a job that will include overseeing The Pet Collective, a fast growing pet site.
Gilman will work closely with the company’s new Digital & Branded Entertainment Division, led by CEO Keith Hindle. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Lee Rierson.
“FremantleMedia has an extremely successful track record of creating digital businesses around the company’s renowned TV brands,” said Thom Beers, CEO of FremantleMedia North America. “Having Gayle lead our digital team will allow us to expand our original content business. She is the perfect addition to help us create content that we can nurture into global brands in the booming transmedia world.”
“There is a big opportunity in the original digital area, and platform providers are now looking for the kind of premium content we can deliver,” said Gilman. “FremantleMedia is uniquely poised to use its global reach and its existing partners to launch new IP. There couldn’t be a more exciting moment in time to work in this business.”
Gilman joins FremantleMedia from Original Productions, where she served as the senior vice president for Original Productions Entertainment Network. She previously served as co-executive producer for the Emmy-nominated “Ice Road Truckers,” as well as “Swords: Life on the Line,” “Lobstermen” and “America’s Lost Treasures.”
