Hollywood Chris Battle Royale: Hemsworth, Evans and Pratt Join Pine as Academy Members

“Wonder Woman” star loses his edge in the battle of famous Chrises

Sorry, Chris Pine. Your major competitors in the Chris Battle Royale just caught up considerably in the race for Best Hollywood Chris.

The internet has been obsessed for months with pitting actors Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Pine against each other, and a leading edge in Pine’s favor has now been leveled.

The Motion Picture Academy unveiled its 2017 invitees on Wednesday, tipping Pratt, Evans and Hemsworth to join the organization that chooses the annual Academy Award winners in one fell swoop.

Pine was previously the only Chris in the bunch to be a member, having scored that in 2015.

There’s no not doubt how real the Chris Battle can get. Pine has had an undeniable edge of late thanks to the runway success of “Wonder Woman” this summer, in which he plays Gal Gadot’s love interest.

While hosting “Saturday Night Live” in May to promote the Patty Jenkins film, Pine even sang a song about the rivalry.

“I’m not that Chris / I look just like him, but I’m not that Chris / Not Pratt or Hemsworth / I’m a different guy / Not Evans either / I’m my own cool vibe,” he sang.

Vanity Fair wrote a primer on this weeks after the SNL moment, saying “a Chris preference is a very personal thing; there is no one true right answer, but we can now say beyond a shadow of a doubt that if Pine has not necessarily leapt to first place, he’s very, very close.”

A week later, Jezebel released its official endorsement for top Chris, naming Pine as their pick. It’s impossible to say how long he’ll hold momentum.

The fall movie season will belong to Hemsworth with the release of Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” and he’ll use shirtless health magazine covers, Ellen DeGeneres games, Fallon lip-syncs and god knows what else to capture the hearts of American people.

But success may be short lived. Evans will return as Captain America in “Avengers: Infinity War,” and Pratt will bounce back with “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”

“This ones on top, then that ones on top and on and on it spins crushing those on the ground,” goes Daenerys Targaryen’s famous quote. Will one Chris ever break the wheel?
