Jack Coleman to Return for NBC’s ‘Heroes Reborn’

The actor will reprise his role for the upcoming reboot

Jack Coleman is the first actor to join NBC’s upcoming miniseries “Heroes Reborn,” an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Coleman will return to play Noah Bennett, a former agent with the Company and father to cheerleader Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere). Fans dubbed him “HRG” or the “Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses,” before “Heroes” revealed his real name.

The role was initially recurring, but Coleman was a made a series regular as of the 11th episode of Season 1. The character’s first name wasn’t revealed until “How to Stop an Exploding Man,” the first season finale.

Since “Heroes,” Coleman has held recurring roles on “Castle,” “Scandal,” “Burn Notice,” “The Office” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

Original creator and executive producer Tim Kring is back to executive produce 13 episodes of the reboot. NBC said it will reveal the characters and storylines via a digital series ahead of the miniseries’ 2015 debut.

“Heroes,” which portrayed ordinary people who discovered they had extraordinary powers, aired for four seasons on NBC from 2006-2010. Its first season averaged 14.3 million viewers, but that dwindled to about 6.5 million in its final season. Many of its stars would go on to great careers after the show, including Coleman, Panettiere, Greg Grunberg, Milo Ventimiglia and Zachary Quinto.
