Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘Nightcrawler’ to Close Fantastic Fest

The 10th anniversary of the festival will also include a gala screening of Keanu Reeves’ assassin thriller “John Wick”

The U.S. premiere of Dan Gilroy‘s “Nightcrawler” highlights the second wave of announcements coming out of Austin, TX’s upcoming 10th anniversary edition of Fantastic Fest, which runs from Sept. 18-25.

“Nightcrawler,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal as an aspiring crime journalist, will close the festival. The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before it’s released theatrically on Oct. 31.

The festival will also feature a red carpet screening of David Leitch and Chad Stahelski’s “John Wick,” featuring Keanu Reeves as an ex-hitman who comes out of retirement for some revenge killing. “John Wick” also stars Willem Dafoe and Adrianne Palicki and will be released on Oct. 24.

The rest of the lineup include latest from Studio Ghibli, “The Princess of Kaguya,” the Cannes hit “Force Majeure” and Takashi Miike’s newest horror adaptation, “Over Your Dead Body.”
