‘Jane The Virgin’ Casts Ana de la Reguera in Recurring Role (Exclusive)

Actress will play new assistant to Jaime Camil’s Rogelio de la Vega character

Rogelio is getting a new assistant, and “Jane The Virgin” has set Ana de la Reguera to recur in the role of Paola, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

De la Reguera will appear in three episodes on the second season of the show starring Gina Rodriguez. Jaime Camil, who plays Rogelio, posted a photo of himself with the new addition the cast on Instagram.

“Jane The Virgin” received its first Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Narrator category. Anthony Mendez, who is heard but never seen as the irreverent voice guiding the audience through the many dramatic life events of Rodriguez’s title character, became the first narrator of a scripted series nominated in the category.

Rodriguez also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical, making her only the second Latina actress to win the award and the first Golden Globe winner for The CW.

De la Reguera most recently guest starred on Netflix’s “Narcos” and is represented by Roar Management and Paradigm Talent Agency.

“Jane The Virgin” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
