Jennifer Lopez smacked down reports of a feud with Mariah Carey while appearing on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday, and suggested Ben Affleck‘s style transformation during their romance at the beginning of the new millennium was “kind of” her doing.
“I don’t have a feud against her at all,” the single-again singer insisted. “I know from back in the day, I’ve read things that she’s said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don’t know each other. I think it’s kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I’m not really aware of. But I don’t know.”
To further distance herself from speculations of a squabble, Lopez added that she would “love to meet her” and even “be friends with her.”
“I think she’s incredibly talented and I’ve always been a fan of hers,” Lopez said. “‘My All’ is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just love her. It saddens me to hear anything that’s negative because I’m a fan of hers.”
Cohen couldn’t resist asking about Lopez’s 18-month courtship with Affleck, which fascinated the media so much between 2001 and 2003 that they were dubbed “Bennifer.”
“Was the transformation of Ben Affleck your doing?” Cohen asked. “Did you dress him when you were dating him?”
“I did kind of like, say, ‘You’re a movie star! You should wear a suit! You should do this with your hair!’ For sure. I mean, I do that,” the 44-year-old singer said. “He was into it. He didn’t do anything he didn’t want to do…He had some good fashion moments when he was with me!”
Lopez’s “Booty” music video teaser recently reminded fans of her claim to one of the best butts in Hollywood, but admitted “there’s so many booties” out there to marvel at. When asked whether she thinks Kim Kardashian or Beyoncé ranks as second best butt in town, Lopez complimented a rear end married to Justin Timberlake.
“You know who I’m going to say has a great booty that I’ve seen in person? What’s her name? Jessica Biel! She has an amazing body,” Lopez said. “I remember seeing her and going, ‘God, she has a really nice, toned body. I need to go back to the gym!'”
