Kerry Washington, Kate Hudson Exit Warner Bros. Thriller ‘Unforgettable’

Director Amma Asante has also left the project, which will now be directed by producer Denise Di Novi

Kerry Washington and Kate Hudson will not star in the Warner Bros. thriller “Unforgettable” after all, as producer Denise Di Novi will recast the leads and take over the director’s chair, TheWrap has learned.

Amma Asante had been attached to direct “Unforgettable” and was a major reason why Washington wanted to do the project. When the “Scandal” star decided to use her hiatus to shoot HBO’s Anita Hill movie, Asante chose to leave the project, for which Washington and Hudson will not return.

Neither actress had a deal in place to star in “Unforgettable” but both had been in negotiations with Warner Bros.

Written by Christina Hodson, “Unforgettable” follows a man and his new bride who are tormented by his ex-wife.

Di Novi will make her directorial debut and produce, while Warner Bros. executives Andy Fischel and Racheline Benveniste will oversee the project for the studio.
