‘The Killing’s’ Michelle Forbes to Guest on Fox’s ‘Rake’ (Exclusive)

The actress will take the stand on the upcoming Fox legal drama starring Greg Kinnear

Michelle Forbes is jumping from one heated role into another.

The actress will guest star on “Rake,” Fox’s new drama from Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me,” “Analyze This”) and Sony Pictures TV, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

Forbes will appear on Episode 106 as Lucy Marks, who’s described as a very put together woman whose daughter was convicted of murder. She herself is on trial for illegally taping a phone conversation.

Best known for playing grieving mother Mitch Larson on AMC’s “The Killing,” she currently recurs on NBC’s “Chicago Fire.” Her other TV credits include HBO’s “True Blood” and “In Treatment,” as well as Fox’s “Prison Break” and “24.”

“Rake” is an adaptation of the award-winning Australian legal drama of the same name. It follows the often comedic and chaotic life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Deane (Greg Kinnear). Miranda Otto and John Ortiz also star.

It is executive-produced by writer/creator Peter Duncan, Tolan, Michael Wimer (“2012”), Richard Roxburgh (“Moulin Rouge”) and Ian Collie (Australian “Rake”). Sam Raimi (“Spider-Man 3”) directed the pilot.

“Rake” premieres Thursday, Jan. 23 at 9/8c.
