Lee Jones Has Nothing to Lose in ‘The Bastard Executioner’ Trailer (Video)

The FX series from “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter will air in the Fall

The first teaser for FX’s “The Bastard Executioner,” the new period drama from “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter, hit the web on Monday.

The trailer, which debuted at Comic-Con and aired during Sunday night’s premiere of “The Strain,” features Lee Jones as a 14th-century knight who gives up his life of killing, but ends up becoming executioner.

“The Bastard Executioner” features series regulars Jones, Stephen Moyer, Katey Sagal, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Kurt Sutter, Sam Spruell, Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeney, Elen Rhys, Ethan Griffiths and guest star Matthew Rhys.

Sutter will executive-produce alongside Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Paris Barclay. Sutter wrote the script for the pilot, which was directed by Barclay. The project is being produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

“The Bastard Executioner” airs on FX this fall.
