Les Moonves Says CBS Plans to Renew All Active Freshman Series

So, welcome back, “Supergirl,” “Limitless,” “Life in Pieces” and “Code Black,” for starters

Les Moonves announced plans on Tuesday to renew each of five new CBS series from this season, pointing out that “we own four of them.”

So, welcome back (in all likelihood) “Supergirl,” “Limitless,” “Life in Pieces,” and “Code Black,” for starters.

“Angel From Hell” was already canceled, so maybe not all all new shows, exactly.

CBS still has a handful of freshman series yet to premiere, such as “Rush Hour” and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.”

We doubt Moonves was speaking about an early renewal before a series debut, so in all likelihood, he misremembered the Jane Lynch sitcom’s fate.

The CBS CEO made his remarks this morning at the Deutsche Bank Media, Internet & Telecom Conference. While there have been no official renewal announcements yet, Moonves does not typically speak haphazardly. Plus, he’s the boss.
