Lifetime to Air JonBenet Ramsey Doc Following Scripted Movie

“JonBenet’s Mother: Victim or Killer,” focusing on Patsy Ramsey, will premiere November 5

Lifetime will air a two-hour documentary special titled “JonBenét’s Mother: Victim or Killer?” in November, following the premiere of the scripted movie based on the 20-year-old murder case.

The documentary, which will premiere on Saturday, November 5, will focus on JonBenét Ramsey’s mother, Patsy. The special promises to feature people who have never spoken publicly, as well as a fresh look at the crime. It will also examine the evidence through the lens of modern forensic technology.

The premiere will follow the debut of the scripted film “Who Killed JonBenét?,” starring Eion Bailey (“Band of Brothers”), Michel Gill (“Mr. Robot“), Julia Campbell (“Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion”) and Payton Lepinski as JonBenet.

Lifetime recently released the first trailer for “Who Killed JonBenét?,” which can be viewed above.

The network’s night of JonBenét Ramsey programming comes ahead of the 20th anniversary of the young girl’s death this December, which has inspired a rash of programming re-investigating the event. CBS recently premiered the two-part docuseries “The Case Of,” and Investigation Discovery has its own special in the works.

“JonBenét’s Mother: Victim or Killer?” is produced by Sharp Entertainment. Matt Sharp, Dan Adler and Siobhan Walshe will serve as executive producers. Mary Donahue and Kimberly Chessler executive produce for Lifetime.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported in the documentary.
