Quick deal update from Cannes, though this one involves a book: Aid+Abet, the Los Angeles-based production house, has acquired the worldwide film and television rights to Elizabeth Bard’s New York Times best-selling memoir, “Lunch in Paris: A Love Story, With Recipes.”

The book details Bard’s “love affair with Paris and French cuisine.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company -- led by former HBO Films VP Sam Martin -- has a first-look deal with HBO.

The deal was brokered by Bard’s agent, Wendy Sherman of Wendy Sherman Associates and Aid+Abet’s Ari Ingel.

Aid+Abet is attending Cannes to participate in the producer’s network and Marché du Film.
