It took just two rounds to decide the outcome between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and hard-hitting “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star Terry Crews on Thursday’s “Lip Sync Battle.”
“The Hangover” star and the former NFL defensive end went head-to-head in another wildly entertaining episode of the Spike instant-hit show.
Tattoo-faced boxer Tyson opened the bout by gyrating in tight trousers to “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones, while Crews went back to the days when he was 12 years old and the song “that made me a man,” by rapping Run D.M.C’s “Sucker MC’s.”
For round two, Tyson delivered his most shocking move since biting part of Evander Holyfield’s ear off in a 1997 fight by squeezing into leather pants for Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It.”
Crews, however, upped that as well by stripping to the waist for his next performance and rippling his pecs provocatively to channel Vanessa Carlton for a lip sync of “A Thousand Miles” — the tune he sang in 2004’s “White Chicks“ — while spinning around in baggy white pants.
Ultimately, Crews took the title and snatched another winner’s belt from Tyson’s grasp.
Having already been renewed for Season 2, “Lip Sync Battle” started off as a segment on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” and quickly turned into an Internet sensation. The gag really took off when a clip went viral of Emma Stone absolutely schooling Fallon with rapid Blues Traveler lyrics and a bombastic DJ Khaled/Ludacris rap.
“Lip Sync Battle” airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on Spike.
