‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ Trailer Pits Tom Cruise Against the ‘Anti-IMF’ (Video)

Ethan Hunt returns to theaters on July 31

Tom Cruise‘s “Mission: Impossible” crew is in even deeper trouble in the fifth installment of the action franchise that he launched in 1996.

A new full-length trailer for the Paramount Pictures summer tentpole delves deeper into the plot that was teased in a different preview released on Sunday.

“The Syndicate is real,” Cruise’s secret agent, Ethan Hunt, says over the phone. “A rogue nation trained to do what we do.”

“They’re coming after us with everything they’ve got,” Cruise tells his IMF team, consisting of returning stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner.

Newcomer Rebecca Ferguson joins the team as they reunite to take down a criminal organization that Pegg’s character describes as the “anti-IMF.” Alec Baldwin also has a role.

“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” which reunites Cruise with “Jack Reacher” director Christopher McQuarrie, hits theaters on July 31.
