Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired domestic rights to Michel Gondry's documentary "The Thorn in the Heart," which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film follows Gondry's school teacher aunt Suzette and her relationship with her son, Jean Yves, in France.

The film was produced by Partizan Films.

Oscilloscope Laboratories is a film production and theatrical distribution entity launched in 2008 by Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys.

Gondry is currently in pre-production on "The Green Hornet," starring star Seth Rogen, to be released in the summer of 2010 by Columbia Pictures.

Oscilloscope recently acquired the documentary "Dear Zachary" and political nonfiction tale "Burma VJ."
