Lionsgate has acquired North American distribution rights to the EuropaCorp-produced action-thriller "From Paris With Love," starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
The film, directed by Pierre Morel ("Taken") from a screenplay written by Luc Besson, recently completed production in France. The plot centers around a low-ranking intelligence operative (Rhys Meyers) in Paris who partners with a wisecracking U.S. agent (Travolta) to stop a terrorist attack.
Lionsgate has scheduled the film for release on February 19, 2010. The deal marks the third collaboration between Lionsgate and EuropaCorp, following the studio’s distribution of EuropaCorp’s "Transporter 3" last Thanksgiving and "High Tension" in 2005.
