Paramount moves live-action comic book adaptation away from Tom Cruise's "Edge of Night"
Paramount has pushed its live-action kids film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” from June 6 to Aug. 14 next summer.
The new date puts it up against Universal’s horror remake “Dracula” and Disney’s drama “The 100 Foot Journey.” It will hit theaters one week after Disney and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Focus Features’ “50 Shades of Grey.”
On its previous date, it would have gone against the Warner Bros. Tom Cruise action film “Edge of Tomorrow,” and preceded Paramount’s own “Transformers 4” by three weeks.
Megan Fox, William Fichtner, Whoopi Goldberg and Will Arnett star; Jonathan Liebesman directs the tale from Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes.
The project is a reboot of the early 1990s film franchise, which brought in nearly half a billion dollars for New Line.
