On the overseas circuit, it was three more cheers for 3D.
“Clash of the Titans” spent a second week at the top of the foreign box office, taking $54 million from 31 markets for the Warner Bros. remake.
“Titans” was followed by Dreamworks’ “How to Train Your Dragon” and Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland,” which earned $23.7 million and 19 million, respectively. Each played on just over 7,000 screens.
“Titans,” which has now grossed $229.7 million globally, opened No. 1 in Russia, France and Germany, and remained in first place in Korea.
“Date Night,” the domestic winner with $27.1 million, took $7.1 million overseas on 1,610 screens.
“Alice” has grossed $461.5 million overseas, becoming the 28th highest grossing film in foreign markets.
No. 4 was Another family-friendly film, "Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang," took the No. 4 spot with a $7.4 million weekend. The Universal film starring Emma Thompson has been strongest in the U.K., where the film's 17-day market tally is $18.1 million.
Rounding out the top five was “Shutter Island,” which took in $7.3 million, including a No. 1 opening in Japan for $3.5 million.
