A Muslim woman who was kicked out of a Donald Trump rally on Friday says she was taunted by Trump supporters chanting “You have a bomb.”
The demonstrator, Rose Hamid, attended the rally wearing a T-shirt that read “I come in peace” and stood silently in protest when Trump linked Syrian refugees to ISIS.
Hamid told CNN that as she was being escorted out of the rally, Trump supporters accused her of having a bomb while others yelled at her to “get out.”
“The crowd got this like, hateful crowd mentality as I was being escorted,” she said. “It was really quite telling, and a vivid example of what happens when you start using this hateful rhetoric and how it can incite a crowd, where moments ago [it] was very kind to me.”
Hamid said that she came to the rally because she “figured most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one.”
