NBC has parted ways with affiliate marketing boss Scot Chastain, the company said on Tuesday. His departure came following an investigation into Chastain’s conduct, TheWrap is told.

Details of the investigation or of apparent allegations made against Chastain were not made public, with an NBCUniversal spokesperson simply stating that the longtime executive had exited his post of nearly two decades.

“A thorough internal review was conducted. Scot Chastain is no longer with the company,” the spokesperson said.

NBC would not comment on the exact nature of the review.

Since being elevated to executive vice president in 1999, Chastain oversaw all development and distribution of the network’s marketing, sales and advertising materials for its 240 affiliate and owned television stations. His division led promotion of NBC across all dayparts on all local station on-air and digital platforms.

He first joined the company in 1995 as manager, working his way up to director, vice president and eventually executive vice president.

Variety first reported the news.
