Newsmax host Dennis Michael Lynch was yanked off the air for bashing his own network on Wednesday night, but it hasn’t stopped the Donald Trump supporter from sharing his views on social media.
“You can earn millions, you can achieve fame, you can hold power, but w/out integrity and backbone you have nothing,” Lynch tweeted on Thursday afternoon, presumably referring to his on-air prediction that it his comments would result in the end of his tenure at Newsmax.
Since his on-air monologue, Lynch has also posted on his own website about a planned Muslim day at a French a water park, Baltimore police not being allowed to bring guns into schools, demand for Hillary Clinton’s health records and Will Smith‘s opposition to Trump, among many other things.
Newsmax did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on Lynch’s employment status, and he also did not respond to our request for comment.
Lynch’s program, “Unfiltered,” more than lived it up to its name on Wednesday night. He went way off script when he called out his own network while in turn defending Fox News. He revealed to viewers that in “fighting for Trump” on the air, he has “been restricted” in that goal and was recently informed he “will no longer have editorial discretion.”
The political commentator went on to complain that Newsmax is pushing “pre-made packages” on his show, such as one that “tried to slam Fox News for the unfortunate things that are taking place over there right now.”
He was presumably referring to former Fox News chief Roger Ailes’ resignation while he faces a sexual harassment suit from former on-air personality Gretchen Carlson. Clearly, the “Unfiltered” host had premeditated his outburst, as he posted his own hidden-camera recording of the opening monologue on Facebook Live.
After criticizing positive media coverage of Hillary Clinton and supporting Trump and Fox News, Lynch noted, “regrettably, this will be, odds are, my last night.”
He was soon blacked out by the network and when the show returned, it was helmed by a different host.
“I’m not going away; trust me on that one,” Lynch wrote on Facebook.
