Ratings: Renewed ‘Night Shift’ Jumps Versus Weak Competition

ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” takes a tumble

NBC easily topped Tuesday with “America’s Got Talent” and the renewed “Night Shift” besting soft network competition.

Fox and CBS aired entirely reruns, while ABC’s lineup dipped down.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.2 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 9.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 8 p.m., “America’s Got Talent” earned a night-high 2.6/9 and 10.9 million viewers. At 10, “Night Shift,” which was renewed on Tuesday, ticked up 25 percent to a 1.5/5 and 7.2 million viewers.

Univision was second in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fourth in viewers with 3.09 million.

CBS and ABC tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.9/3. Despite airing entirely reruns, CBS was second in viewers with 6.2 million. ABC was third with 3.14 million.

For ABC, “Extreme Weight Loss” at 8 had a 0.9/3 and 3.2 million viewers. At 10, “Celebrity Wife Swap” fell 31 percent to a 0.9/3, and got 3 million viewers.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in total viewers with 1.8 million.

Fox was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and sixth in total viewers with 1.3 million, airing entirely repeats.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in total viewers with 520,000. At 8, “Famous in 12” had a 0.2/1 and 518,000 viewers. A rerun followed.
