‘One Life to Live’ Star Nathaniel Marston Is ‘Being Slow to Wake Up’ After Car Accident

The actor was involved in a serious car accident on Oct. 30 near Reno, Nevada which may leave him “paralyzed from the neck down”

Nathaniel Marston, an actor best known for his six-year stint on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live,” has made it through surgery but is only slowly beginning to recover, his mother posted on Facebook Tuesday morning.

“While he made it through surgery he is being slow to wake up…” Elizabeth Jackson wrote. “He opened his eyes once at 5AM this morning… please pray for him to become more responsive.”

On Monday night, Jackson announced that Marston’s doctors were “pleased with the result” of the surgery, but he remained in critical condition.

On Friday, the actor was in a car accident that left his back and neck broken in several places, with “other internal injuries.” In an update early on Sunday morning, Jackson reported that Marston’s doctors had told her “In all likely hood if he lives he will be paralyzed from the neck down and will not breathe without a ventilator machine.”

Marston played Eddie Silva on “As the World Turns,” earning a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination as Outstanding Male Newcomer in 1998. He picked up another nomination for his role as Michael McBain on “One Life to Live.” He left the soap in 2007.
