Shay Mitchell Shares Tearful ‘Farewell’ to ‘Pretty Little Liars’ (Video)

“I am still awestruck by the whole experience and I can’t believe it’s over,” actress says

“Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell shared a tearful “farewell” video to the Freeform drama on Tuesday, days after wrapping production on the series finale.

Wearing a jacket emblazoned with her character’s name and a large red “A,” the actress read an emotional goodbye letter to the series, looking back on the last seven years and thanking her cast mates, as well as the show’s crew and writers.

“It feels like the last day of school with just a extra bit of emptiness,” she said. “Our show ending is such a weird unique thing that I have only experienced from where you are sitting.

“I don’t know what my life would’ve looked like without ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ it has changed me in more ways than I could attempt to count,” Mitchell said. “‘PLL’ and Emily Fields shaped me into something that I’m not sure can ever be topped. And I am still awestruck by the whole experience and I can’t believe it’s over.”

Mitchell got most emotional when addressing her “sisters” and co-stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson and Sasha Pieterse.

“We did it. We managed to stay close through seven years of high school. And that will always be what I’m most proud of,” she said. “The good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, we were always there for each other, and I feel so incredibly lucky to know you all, and I will never forget what we had these last seven years. It was rare and special and perfect. And I will miss you all madly.”

“Emily, Hanna, Allison, Aria and Spencer have now gone where all beloved characters go when people stop writing for them: The End,” she concluded

The final 10 episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” will air in April 2017.
