‘Pretty Little Liars’ Unveils New Opening Sequence (Video)

Everyone gets a turn to “shh” when series returns in January

ABC Family revealed the new opening sequence for “Pretty Little Liars” on Thursday.

The new version adds regular cast member Sasha Pieterse, and will give each of the five stars their turn to do the famous “shhh” depending on the episode.

After six seasons the hit teen series finally unmasked the villainous “A” in its summer finale. When the series returns with new episodes in January, the story will advance five years into the future with a new mystery for the titular liars to solve.

“There’s definitely a big mystery that will begin after the five-year time jump, and that one big mystery will take us to the end of Season 7,” showrunner I. Marlene King told TheWrap after the finale aired in August.

“It’ll feel like ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ but a more grown-up version,” she promised. “The girls will be 23 years old, so some of the storylines will be more mature and edgy than some of the things we’ve tackled in the past.”
