“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kim Richards will face charges stemming from a drunken incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel in April.
According to documents filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Richards is charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery upon a police officer. She is set to be arraigned on June 11. If convicted, she faces up to two and half years in jail.
Richards has had a history of substance abuse issues in the past, according to multiple reports. She recently stormed out of an interview with Dr. Phil after he questioned her about the incident.
According to the Beverly Hills police department, officers responded to reports of a possible fight at approximately 1:30am on April 16.
Hotel security reported that Richards, whom they described as an “intoxicated female,” had caused a disturbance at a hotel restaurant and was asked to leave. While being escorted from the hotel, Richards asked to use the bathroom, then refused to leave, according to police.
“Ms. Richards was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest,” the police department said.
