A promising young soccer star must come to terms with losing his leg to cancer in the first full trailer for Fox’s new fall drama, “Red Band Society.”
That’s just one of the heart-wrenching story lines that are introduced in the 3-minute look at the series, narrated by a boy in a coma. Yeah.

The trailer also introduces a drugged-out cheerleader who learns she needs a heart transplant, a girl who may have a serious eating disorder, and an elder statesmen of sorts, who has been fighting cancer for what looks like months.
The show, executive produced by Steven Spielberg starring Octavia Spencer, follows a group of teens who meet as patients at the pediatric ward of of a Los Angeles hospital and bond over their shared fears of death and fight for life.
