Simon Pegg Travels the World in ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ Trailer (Video)

Seeking to learn what makes people happy, he finds Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette, Stellan Skarsgard, and Jean Reno along the way

Simon Pegg is a psychiatrist looking for answers in “Hector and the Search for Happiness.” In the latest trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy’s UK release, it becomes clear that he finds an all-star supporting cast along the way.

Rosamund Pike is the reluctant girlfriend he leaves behind after deciding he needs to search the world for the secret to what makes people happy. During his travels, he runs into the likes of Stellan Skarsgard, Toni Collette, Jean Reno, and Christopher Plummer, who advises him that it may be more about being happy in the neverending pursuit of happiness. 

Directed by Peter Chelsom, the romantic comedy was produced by Klaus Dohle, Trish Dolman, Christine Haebler, Phil Hunt, Compton Ross, and Judy Tossell. It was written by Chelsom, Tinker Lindsay and Maria von Heland, based on the book of the same name by Francois Lelord.

The film was a collaborative production of Egoli Tossell Film, Film Afrika Worldwide, Construction Film, Erfttal Film, Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology Screen Siren Pictures, and Wild Bunch Germany. It will be released by Eagle Films in the UK on August 15, before coming over to the United States, where Relativity Media is set to release it on September 19.
