CBS’ “Supergirl” has added Glenn Morshower to the cast to play General Sam Lane, father to Lucy and Lois Lane, TheWrap has learned.
Morshower’s character will appear following the introduction of Jenna Dewan-Tatum as Lucy Lane, Lois’ younger sister. This version of General Lane is described as a tough military man who’s overprotective over his two daughters.
His arrival in National City will spell trouble for Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) as he sets out to enlist her in a dangerous government initiative.
The series, from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, will revolve around Kara at age 24, as she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.
Morshower’s long list of big and small screen credits include “24,” “Dallas,” “X-Men: First Class” and two “Transformers” films. He’s represented by Stone Manners Salners Agency.
The news of his casting was first reported by IGN.
