‘The Hateful Eight’ Wide Release Moves Up a Week to New Year’s Day

Quentin Tarantino’s Western will be in limited release on Christmas

Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” will reach wide audiences a week earlier than originally scheduled.

The Weinstein Company has moved up the wide release of the film, starring Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson and Jennifer Jason Leigh, to New Year’s Day, Jan 1, from its original Jan 8 date.

Art house cinemas will still get Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight” in 70mm on Christmas Day as planned. The wide release of the film will be on standard 35mm.

The film, written and directed by Tarantino, is produced by Richard N. Gladstein, Stacey Sher and Shannon McIntosh. Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and Georgia Kacandes are executive producing, and Coco Francini and William Paul Clark are associate producing.
