‘The View’ Eyes Monica Lewinsky as Guest Co-Host

Insider tells TheWrap the ABC daytime show would love to have the former White House intern join the panel

Monica Lewinsky is welcome with open arms to guest co-host “The View,” an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap.

Lewinsky, who’s returned to prominence over the last year while spearheading an anti-bullying campaign, has thrown herself back into the media spotlight — last May she was the cover subject for Vanity Fair in an article dubbed “Shame and Survival.”

In March, she gave a much buzzed about Ted Talk on cyberbullying, an issue Lewinsky has made a big cause of her life. It was that talk that peaked the eye of “The View.”

“Monica was invited to be a guest on ‘The View’ a couple weeks ago to talk about her anti-bullying campaign right after her Ted Talk,” a show spokesperson told TheWrap. “We’d love to have Monica on the show.”

Since Rosie O’Donnell‘s abrupt departure from the show in February, the daytime talker has a round of guest hosts. And Rosie Perez has returned to the show full-time, noticeably inserting herself into the debate stronger and louder.

An insider told TheWrap a permanent replacement for O’Donnell might not be named for months as the show continues to try out new voices.
