The reality series is back with its novel twists on saying goodbye
TLC's “Best Funeral Ever” returns Monday at 10/9c.
The series follows Dallas-based Golden Gate Funeral Home where John Beckwith Jr. and his staff as they organize the most unique funerals in the country. They like to call them “home-going celebrations.” Their goal is to create a memorial that celebrates the deceased person's life and Beckwith's team does that and then some.
Fans were first exposed to the show earlier this year when TLC aired the pilot. It generated a lot of headlines and trended on Twitter. The pilot averaged 1.5 million total viewers and ranked No. 2 among women 18-34 in the time period across all ad-supported cable.
TheWrap has an exclusive preview from Monday's two-hour premiere featuring the wake of Judy Sunday, which takes place at a bowling alley. An avid bowler in life, her family helps her make her last big strike in a surprisingly literal way.
Sure, it may seem distasteful to some. But, who's to judge how a family wants to mourn?
