Dick Ebersol is scheduled to appear on “The Colbert Report” on Wednesday. But if you’re hoping for Stephen Colbert to skewer the Conan O’Brien bashing NBC executive, I wouldn’t bet on it.

After all, the reason why he was booked is to talk about the Olympics – mainly because "Colbert Nation" has pledged $300,000 to sponsor the U.S. speedskating team’s trip to Vancouver, a trip that will no doubt be promoted during NBC's coverage.

But Colbert will likely prod Ebersol about the network’s failure to sell the Games to advertisers. NBC is poised to lose roughly $200 million on next month’s broadcast, according to recent estimates.

On Tuesday’s “Report,” Colbert did finally break his silence on the NBC late night debacle, albeit briefly:

“We all know these are hard economic times, especially for NBC. Evidently, Jeff Zucker is trying to burn down the network for the insurance money.”
