‘Vikings’ Star Clive Standen Teases ‘Far More’ Rollo in Season 5 (Video)

“He has gone back to France after his midlife crisis, and he has to face the music with Princess Gisla,” actor tells TheWrap

“Vikings” star Clive Standen says fans — who also know him from NBC’s “Taken” — will see plenty of him in the upcoming season of the History channel drama.

“I have gone back to season 5,” Standen said in an interview with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “I filmed some episodes and there’s far more of Rollo to enjoy in the next season.”

Standen stars on the series, now in its fourth season, as Rollo, the first Duke of Normandy and the traitorous brother to Travis Fimmel’s Ragnar Lothbrok.

But while his character will return next season, Standen said Rollo might not be around to avenge the death of his brother, who was dropped into a pit of poisonous snakes in the pivotal Season 4 episode “All His Angels.”

“He has gone back to France after his midlife crisis, and he has to face the music with Princess Gisla,” Standen said. “But that’s not the end of Rollo, [even though] he may not be involved so much in the revenge of Ragnar Lothbrok.

“Vikings” airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on History.
