Somewhere along the vast American highway, on an untouched stretch over which only True Men can pass, Vin Diesel stopped to hoist two buckets. One was filled with ice, the other loaded with guts.
Diesel, the star of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise and the voice of the bravest tree of our generation, joined in on the popular celebrity trend of dumping ice water on oneself for charity on Monday. And, like other participants, he challenged several other people to dump ice water on themselves, too.

But Mr. Diesel, a walking symbol of strength and heart, made sure his version of the Ice Bucket Challenge really counted.
When he was done pouring ice water over himself in the back of his gigantic truck in the middle of Nowhere, America, Diesel challenged Russian President and American antagonist Vladimir Putin to take the challenge himself. It was a bold move — a visionary one, really — that could help bring together the world’s two biggest powers over laughs and a good cause. Or, it could finally cause an all-out war between the two countries — one that we know Diesel would help win for the good ol US of A.

Ever the environmentalist, he also challenged all of us to plant a tree in honor of his “Guardians of the Galaxy” character, Groot.
