Paul Walker will be remembered on screen through his movies, and in real-life through Vin Diesel‘s newborn daughter’s eyes.

The “Furious 7” star appeared on “The Today Show” on Monday, and told Natalie Morales that he and his longtime girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, have named their third child Pauline to honor Walker.

“It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world,” Diesel told Morales aboard a helicopter in the interview segment.

Diesel appeared alongside Walker in five of the seven movies in the blockbuster Universal Pictures franchise.  Walker, who played cop-turned-fugitive Brian O’Connor, died in a fiery single-car crash on Nov. 30, 2013 in Valencia, Calif. during a break from production.

Diesel was so close to the actor that he said he felt his presence while delivering Pauline.

“He was in the room,” Diesel said. “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I knew he was there.”

Most recently, Diesel got choked about the Walker’s death during a screening of “Furious 7” in Los Angeles.

“This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real,” Diesel said. “When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”
