'Walking Dead' Can't Threepeat Against 'Sunday Night Football'

Zombies can't win third straight week against football

“The Walking Dead” had another strong Sunday, but couldn't threepeat against “Sunday Night Football” in the key demo.

For the last two weeks, AMC's zombie drama beat “SNF” in the key 18-49 demo. That was notable because “SNF” is TV's top show in the 18-49 ratings and total viewers. “The Walking Dead” is the No. 2 show in the demo this season.

Sunday, “The Walking Dead” had a a 6.2 rating compared to a whopping 7.0 for NBC's matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.

“SNF” easily won in total viewers — as it always does — with 19.3 million total viewers. “Walking Dead” had 12.2 million.

The football numbers are likely to change due to the tricky nature of tracking live sports.
