‘World’s Greatest Tribute Bands’ Renewed for Season 7 – Here’s the Lineup (Exclusive)

AXS TV series will pay homage to Prince and David Bowie, among others

Prince will live forever through his music, and AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” plans to do its part on Season 7 — a renewal learned exclusively by TheWrap.

We also nabbed the full schedule first, and it’s posted below.

This time around, host/producer Katie Daryl and her bands will honor the late Prince and David Bowie, dedicating 90 minutes to each. The live concert series airs Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET/7 PT from the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood.

Season 7 will also showcase tributes to Jimi Hendrix, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Seger, Pat Benatar, Journey and Jimmy Buffett.

“One of my favorite things about ‘TheWorld’s Greatest Tribute Bands’ is it provides a national stage for our talented bands to bring to life this timeless music we can sometimes no longer see and hear live,” Daryl told us. “After their passing this year, I knew we had to invite our amazing Prince and David Bowie tributes to return to the show to honor those artists and I am excited to finally present a tribute to one of the most innovative guitarists of all time, Jimi Hendrix.”
