WWE Studios is partnering with Blumhouse Productions on the low-budget exorcism thriller “Incarnate,” starring Aaron Eckhart, the two companies announced on Monday.

The movie, currently in production, stars Eckhart as an unconventional exorcist who taps into the subconscious of a nine-year old boy, played by David Mazouz, who is possessed by a powerful, ancient demon.

As part of the general partnership, WWE Studios will leverage its extensive multi-platform reach for the film.

Jason Blum (“Insidious”) is producing the film for Blumhouse, which is co-financing the production with IM Global. Michael Luisi, WWE Studios President, is executive producing alongside Couper Samuelson, Michael Seitzman, Trevor Engelson, Stuart Ford and Charles Layton.

Universal Pictures will distribute the film in the U.S. and Blumhouse International is overseeing foreign rights.

Brad Peyton (“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”) is directing from a script by Ronnie Christensen (“Dark Tide”).

Both companies are also working together on “Inside Out,” a project in development which Hawk Ostby (“Iron Man”) and Mark Fergus (“Children of Men”) co-wrote.

“WWE Studios is thrilled to partner again with Blumhouse on ‘Incarnate,” Luisi said in a statement.

“WWE has a tremendous brand and we are excited to work with them on ‘Incarnate,’” Blum added.
