Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen Fight Over Kathy Griffin’s ‘Fashion Police’ Exit (Video)

The “Watch What Happens: Live” host thinks Griffin is “the pot calling the kettle black” but Cooper staunchly defends his pal

Andy Cohen isn’t buying Kathy Griffin‘s rationale for leaving “Fashion Police.”

Cohen and Anderson Cooper got into a debate about the popular comedienne during Wednesday’s “Watch What Happens: Live.” Cooper said he wished Griffin the best and believes “she’s going to go on to bigger and better things.”

Cohen, though, had a few thoughts of his own. He said Griffin was “the pot calling the kettle black,” in that she stated the reason she left the E! show was that she did not want to make fun of anyone, yet “the reason everyone loves Kathy Griffin is she makes fun of people constantly.”

Cooper had Griffin’s back throughout, saying he is a loyal member of “Team Griffin.” Cohen did say that he thinks Griffin is “hilarious.”

Griffin’s exit was another in a long string of blows to the popular fashion series. After the death of host Joan Rivers, co-host Giuliana Rancic caused a stir when she made what were perceived as racial comments about actress Zendaya.

The comments eventually led to Zendaya’s friend Kelly Osbourne leaving the show. Following Grffin’s departure, E! has put the show on hiatus.
